Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals from Kensington Car Hire are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This agreement outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations regarding the rental. Should there be any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the terms within the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Kensington
- To hire a vehicle from Kensington, you must be at least 21 years old, although age limits may differ based on vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional charges. You need to present a valid driving licence that meets the specified criteria in the Rental Agreement, along with identification and proof of your current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit are also required. Additional prerequisites may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Kensington office. A deposit may be required to confirm your booking. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is generally due upon vehicle pickup. All charges are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment platforms.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is your responsibility to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. When returning the vehicle, it must be in the same condition as it was collected, allowing for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it was provided; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please contact us immediately if you anticipate being late. You will be held accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full coverage details outlined in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to minimize your financial liability. It is important to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is in place. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains yours, regardless of insurance status.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Note that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional fees.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing or off-roading, and should not be employed for transporting hazardous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Adhere to passenger and weight limits, and only operate within the designated geographical boundaries.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Kensington Car Hire disclaims any liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, as well as lost profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount you paid for the rental in the past year. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraudulent behavior.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Terms Modifications
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
